Traditional room correction focuses only on the room. Smart acoustics recognizes that the final sound depends on the interaction of source, system, and space. It adapts correction based on: what you are playing (music vs movie vs game), what you are playing it on (speakers vs headphones, their capabilities), and where you are playing it (room characteristics).
Smart acoustic systems (like Sonos Trueplay, Apple Adaptive Audio) use built-in microphones to measure the room and continuously adapt as conditions change — moving the speaker, changing the furniture, or new noise sources.
