📖 Audio Glossary

Blurry

Describes sound lacking focus and transient detail — often caused by timing misalignment between drivers or room reflections.

Blurry sound makes it difficult to pinpoint where instruments are in the stereo field and reduces the impact of transients (drum hits, guitar plucks). Causes: excessive early reflections in an untreated room, poor crossover alignment in multi-driver speakers, or high jitter in digital audio.

Fix: acoustic treatment at first reflection points, proper speaker placement (equilateral triangle), and ensuring digital clock sync between devices.
